About the Role

The Grants, Partnership & Business Development Coordinator will lead donor engagement, grants management, partnership development, proposal writing, and compliance oversight for SI’s expanding humanitarian response in Sudan.

The role supports country operations involving emergency humanitarian programming in WASH, shelter, food assistance, cash and voucher assistance (CVA), livelihoods, sanitation, hygiene promotion, and emergency response programming across multiple Sudanese regions.

Working closely with the Country Director and coordination teams, the successful candidate will oversee donor relations, funding opportunities, implementing partner management, compliance systems, and external representation while ensuring strong accountability to donors and stakeholders.

The position is based in N’Djamena, Chad, with remote coordination of Sudan operations and regular engagement with regional donor offices in Nairobi, Port Sudan, and Addis Ababa.

Key Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Grants & Donor Management

• Lead donor mapping and identify strategic funding opportunities for Sudan humanitarian programs.
• Coordinate proposal development, donor reporting, and contractual compliance requirements.
• Ensure high-quality donor submissions aligned with BHA, ECHO, UN, and consortium guidelines.
• Maintain strong donor accountability mechanisms and external compliance systems.
• Monitor donor geographic priorities and funding trends to support portfolio expansion.

Partnership Management

• Strengthen partnership systems with local implementing organizations.
• Develop frameworks for partner compliance, accountability, and performance monitoring.
• Institutionalize partnership management tools and operational systems.
• Support capacity building for local and national partners.

Strategic Business Development

• Advise the Country Director on funding diversification and growth opportunities.
• Support development of the 2027 country strategy and donor engagement plans.
• Represent SI in meetings with donors, NGOs, humanitarian agencies, and consortium partners.
• Identify new humanitarian funding opportunities and strengthen donor relations.

Education & Qualification Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s Degree in:
  • International Relations
  • Program Management
  • Humanitarian Action
  • Development Studies
  • Public Administration
  • Social Sciences or related discipline

Required Professional Experience

• Minimum 3–4 years of humanitarian sector experience
• At least 3–4 years in a similar grants, partnerships, or coordination role
• Strong background working with major donors and consortium grants
• Demonstrated expertise in proposal development, donor reporting, contract management, and partnership systems
• Experience supporting humanitarian emergency response programs

Salary, Benefits & Compensation

SI offers an attractive international expatriate package including:

• Starting salary: From EUR 2,860 gross per month
  • EUR 2,600 base salary
  • 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly
• Monthly Per Diem: USD 750
• Break Allowance: USD 850 every three months
• Additional rest day per month worked
