Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to join our technical team in Kadugli. This role is critical to our subsurface operations, focusing on maximizing the recovery of hydrocarbons from complex reservoirs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sophisticated reservoir models, predicting fluid flow behavior, and optimizing production strategies to ensure long-term field viability. This position requires a deep understanding of fluid dynamics, rock mechanics, and advanced simulation software. As part of our elite engineering team, you will work alongside world-class geoscientists and drilling engineers to solve the most challenging subsurface problems in the Sudanese oil sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity numerical reservoir models to simulate fluid flow and pressure changes.
- Perform detailed uncertainty analysis to mitigate risks associated with reservoir depletion and water breakthrough.
- Optimize well placement and completion strategies to maximize the Net Present Value (NPV) of assets.
- Collaborate with production engineers to manage artificial lift requirements and injection programs.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior reservoir engineers and field technicians.
- Analyze production data to validate simulation results and refine predictive models.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel).
- Advanced mathematical modeling and statistical analysis capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid properties in porous media.
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level technical position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of direct experience in reservoir engineering within an upstream oil and gas environment. Proven track record in managing large-scale field development plans and complex simulation projects is essential. Experience working in African or Middle Eastern basins is a significant advantage.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 1,200,000 SSP to 1,800,000 SSP, depending on technical expertise and performance metrics.
