Job Overview

The Senior Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in our Blue Nile operations, providing high-level legal guidance on complex commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. This role is designed for a seasoned legal professional who can act as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team. You will be responsible for mitigating legal risks while supporting the firm’s business objectives in the region. This is a high-impact position that requires a deep understanding of both local Sudanese laws and international legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
• Lead complex litigation and arbitration proceedings in coordination with local counsel.
• Conduct comprehensive legal risk assessments for new business ventures and international partnerships.
• Ensure all corporate activities comply with local Sudanese regulations and international legal frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial agreements and service level agreements.
• Advise senior management on the legal implications of strategic business decisions.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Sudanese commercial law and international regulatory standards.
• Exceptional negotiation and contract drafting capabilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.

Education

A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is mandatory. A Master of Laws (LLM) or a specialized postgraduate qualification in Corporate Law is highly preferred to ensure the candidate can handle complex international legal structures.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a top-tier law firm or a large multinational corporation. Proven experience in handling cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance is essential for success in this role.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position is competitive and ranges from 850,000 SSP to 1,200,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and qualifications.
