Job Overview

The Mine Safety Officer will lead all safety initiatives at Glencore’s emerging mining site in Kassala, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international best practices. You will develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigations. Working closely with operations, engineering, and management, you will promote a proactive safety culture, delivering training and guidance to all site personnel. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures aligned with Sudanese mining regulations and Glencore’s global standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments to prevent incidents.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills for all employees and contractors.
