Job Overview
The Civil Engineering Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale construction projects in the Kosti region. Reporting to the Regional Director, the incumbent will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects meet technical specifications, budgetary constraints, and schedule milestones. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and resource allocation.
- Lead and supervise on‑site engineering teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, prepare regular status reports, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with local authorities, utility providers, and community stakeholders to secure permits and address environmental concerns.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and negotiate change orders to maintain financial performance.
- Ensure all documentation, including drawings, contracts, and quality records, are accurately maintained and archived.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying lessons learned and promoting innovative construction methods.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities with a proven track record of delivering complex civil engineering projects.
- Excellent knowledge of Sudanese construction codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and BIM tools.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for interfacing with clients, government agencies, and multinational partners.
- Analytical problem‑solving ability to address technical challenges and optimize resource utilization.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related field will be given preference. Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are highly valued.
Experience
Applicants must possess a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, preferably within large infrastructure or commercial construction environments. Experience working on projects in Sudan or the broader East African region is advantageous.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. Salary is complemented by performance‑based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits suite.
