As a Sustainable Urban Planner with UN-Habitat Sudan, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Sudan’s urban areas. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement innovative solutions to urban development challenges, and to promote sustainable and inclusive urban planning practices.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainable Urban Planner to join our team in Kosti, Sudan. The successful candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable and inclusive urban development. You will be responsible for developing and implementing urban planning projects, working closely with local authorities, civil society, and the private sector.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field, with at least 8 years of experience in urban planning. You will have a strong understanding of sustainable urban development principles, and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

As a Sustainable Urban Planner with UN-Habitat Sudan, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from urban planning and development to disaster risk reduction and management. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team, working to make a positive impact on the lives of people in Sudan.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement urban planning projects, working closely with local authorities, civil society, and the private sector.
• Conduct research and analysis on urban development issues, and develop recommendations for sustainable and inclusive urban planning practices.
• Work with local authorities to develop and implement urban planning policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with civil society and the private sector to promote sustainable and inclusive urban development.
• Develop and manage project budgets, and ensure that projects are implemented on time and within budget.

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable and inclusive urban development.
• Strong understanding of sustainable urban development principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Education

Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field.

Experience
