Job Overview
The Cybersecurity Analyst will join IBM Sudan’s Information Security team to protect critical assets, detect threats, and respond to incidents across a portfolio of high‑impact clients. The analyst will work closely with security engineers, consultants, and client stakeholders to implement robust security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools to identify and investigate potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and risk assessments for client environments.
- Develop and execute incident response plans, including containment, eradication, and post‑incident analysis.
- Collaborate with network and system engineers to design and implement security architectures aligned with best practices.
- Prepare detailed security reports, dashboards, and executive briefings for clients and senior management.
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats, attack vectors, and industry regulations affecting Sudan and the broader region.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to client staff to promote a culture of security.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., QRadar, Splunk) and threat‑intelligence tools.
- Experience performing vulnerability assessments using tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS, or Qualys.
- Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in cyber forensics, malware analysis, or security architecture will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Candidates must have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably within a consulting or managed‑services environment. Experience supporting clients in the Middle East or Africa, and familiarity with local regulatory frameworks, will be advantageous.
Salary
