Job Overview
This role is ideal for professionals passionate about optimizing agricultural supply chains to improve efficiency and sustainability. The Agribusiness Supply Chain Specialist will lead initiatives to streamline procurement, logistics, and distribution processes for Cargill’s agribusiness operations in western Sudan. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement supply chain strategies for agricultural commodities, including grains, pulses, and oilseeds.
- Collaborate with local farmers, cooperatives, and suppliers to ensure ethical sourcing and quality standards.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage inventory levels, transportation logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Develop relationships with government agencies and NGOs to align supply chain practices with regional agricultural policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in agricultural supply chain management or agribusiness operations.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of Sudanese agricultural regulations and export compliance requirements.
- Fluency in English and Arabic; familiarity with local farming practices is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline. Advanced degrees (MBA or Master’s in Agribusiness) are preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
3-5 years of professional experience in supply chain roles within the agriculture sector. Experience in Sudan or neighboring East African markets is highly advantageous.
Salary
500,000 – 700,000 Sudanese Pounds (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
