Job Overview
The Construction Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of major construction projects in Nyala and surrounding regions. Reporting to the Regional Director, the manager will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices. This position plays a pivotal role in translating client requirements into actionable project plans, monitoring progress, and delivering results on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and resource allocation.
- Lead and supervise on‑site construction teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, prepare regular status reports, and adjust plans to address any deviations.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and local government agencies to secure permits and approvals.
- Control project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost‑saving measures without compromising quality.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with CCECC’s corporate policies, Sudanese construction regulations, and international environmental standards.
- Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, providing transparent updates and fostering collaborative decision‑making.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team‑management abilities with a focus on safety and quality.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and material specifications.
- Effective problem‑solving skills and the capacity to make data‑driven decisions under pressure.
- Fluent communication in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments and adapt to local cultural contexts.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCMP (Certified Construction Manager) will be given preferential consideration.
Experience
Applicants must possess at least five years of proven experience managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably in the African region. Experience with infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, or commercial buildings will be highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a comprehensive retirement plan.
