Job Overview
The Credit Portfolio Analyst will play a pivotal role in assessing, monitoring, and managing the credit risk of HSBC Sudan’s corporate loan portfolio in the Gedaref region. Reporting to the Credit Risk Manager, the analyst will conduct detailed financial analysis, develop risk rating models, and provide actionable insights to senior management. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio that includes agribusinesses, manufacturing firms, and trade enterprises, contributing directly to the bank’s risk mitigation strategy and overall profitability. The role also involves close collaboration with relationship managers, underwriting teams, and the compliance department to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and market trends of corporate borrowers to assess creditworthiness.
- Develop and maintain quantitative risk rating models and scoring systems tailored to Sudan’s economic environment.
- Prepare comprehensive credit risk reports and presentations for senior management and the Credit Committee.
- Monitor existing loan performance, identify early warning signals, and recommend risk mitigation actions.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to structure appropriate loan terms and covenants.
- Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Sudan regulations and HSBC Group risk policies.
- Participate in portfolio stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate potential impacts of macro‑economic changes.
- Support the development of credit policies and procedures specific to the Gedaref market.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling.
- Excellent knowledge of banking products, credit analysis techniques, and risk management frameworks.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with statistical software (e.g., SAS, R) is a plus.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Education

Salary
