Job Overview

This role involves leading digital documentation efforts for Sudan’s cultural heritage sites, including historical monuments, artifacts, and intangible traditions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct 3D scanning and photogrammetry of heritage sites in Kusti and surrounding regions.
• Develop digital archives for artifacts and historical records using GIS and CAD software.
• Collaborate with local communities to document oral histories and traditional practices.
• Prepare technical reports and conservation plans for at-risk heritage sites.
• Train local stakeholders in digital documentation techniques and heritage preservation.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Blender).
• Experience with GIS mapping and drone-based surveying.
• Strong understanding of Sudanese cultural heritage and conservation ethics.
• Excellent project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Ability to work in remote field conditions with limited resources.

Education

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Cultural Heritage, Archaeology, Digital Documentation, or a related discipline. Additional certifications in heritage conservation or digital archiving are preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in cultural heritage documentation, with a focus on digital preservation techniques. Prior fieldwork in Sub-Saharan Africa is advantageous.

Salary

800,000 – 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
