Job Overview
The Data Science Lead will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics models that support Microsoft Sudan’s cloud services, AI initiatives, and enterprise solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end development of predictive and prescriptive models that address customer churn, demand forecasting, and operational efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud offerings in Sudan.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data requirements, ensure data quality, and establish robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse.
- Mentor and coach a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Design and implement model governance frameworks that comply with Microsoft’s ethical AI principles and Sudanese data protection regulations.
- Present analytical insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, translating technical findings into actionable business decisions.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI/ML technologies, evaluate their applicability, and drive adoption of best‑in‑class tools such as Azure Machine Learning, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis, data manipulation, and model development.
- Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, especially Azure ML, Databricks, and Cosmos DB.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures, and time‑series forecasting.
- Ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions and communicate results to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary data teams in fast‑paced environments.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a data‑first mindset.
Education
A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, with at least three (3) years in a leadership or lead role. Demonstrated success in delivering production‑grade AI solutions for enterprise customers is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based bonuses and stock‑option incentives may be offered.
