We are now seeking a Geological Data Analyst to join our team in El Fasher, Sudan.
Job Overview
The Geological Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and interpreting geological data to support the BGS’s research and advisory work in Sudan.
The role will involve working closely with our team of geologists and other experts to develop and implement data collection and analysis strategies, and to communicate the results of our research to stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in geology and experience of working with geological data.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze geological data from a range of sources, including field observations, laboratory analyses and remote sensing data.
- Develop and implement data collection and analysis strategies to support the BGS’s research and advisory work in Sudan.
- Communicate the results of our research to stakeholders, including government officials, industry representatives and the public.
- Work closely with our team of geologists and other experts to develop and implement research projects and programs.
Required Skills
- Strong background in geology, including knowledge of geological processes and principles.
- Experience of working with geological data, including data collection, analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
Experience
5-7 years of experience in a related field, including experience of working with geological data and communicating research results to stakeholders.
Salary
100,000 – 150,000 SSP per annum.
