Job Overview

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient operation of mining and construction machinery in Sennar, Sudan. This role is critical to ensuring project timelines, safety standards, and equipment performance meet global industry benchmarks. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation and maintenance of heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks) in mining and construction environments.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company operational standards.
• Coordinate with equipment operators, maintenance teams, and project managers to optimize productivity.
• Conduct routine inspections and performance evaluations of machinery to identify potential issues.
• Provide on-site training and mentorship to equipment operators and support staff.
• Prepare detailed operational reports and recommend process improvements.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operations and supervision within mining or construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar equipment systems and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
• Problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Proficiency in using equipment monitoring software and project management tools.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications in equipment operation or safety management are preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in Sudanese mining or infrastructure projects is a significant advantage.

Salary

800,000 – 1,200,000 Sudanese Pounds (SSP) per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
