Job Overview
The Industrial Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain advanced automation systems for GE’s manufacturing facilities and client projects across Sudan. This role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to develop PLC programs, integrate SCADA platforms, and optimize production lines for efficiency, safety, and reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI solutions for production equipment.
- Develop and maintain SCADA systems for real‑time monitoring and control.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate automation hardware.
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis.
- Ensure all automation solutions meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider).

- Strong knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Problem‑solving mindset with excellent analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEC 61131‑3, ISO 9001).
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in PLC programming or automation (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell Automation) are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation, preferably within manufacturing environments. Experience with large‑scale projects, system integration, and team leadership will be considered an advantage.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
