Job Overview

The Pharmacovigilance Scientist will join Pfizer’s Drug Safety team in Al‑Ubayyid, playing a critical role in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to ensure the safety of Pfizer’s pharmaceutical products in the Sudanese market. The specialist will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including clinical research, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs, to collect safety data, conduct signal detection, and prepare safety reports for local and international regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, assess, and enter individual case safety reports (ICSRs) from healthcare professionals, patients, and literature sources.
• Perform causality assessment and seriousness evaluation in accordance with local and international guidelines.
• Prepare and submit periodic safety update reports (PSURs) and expedited safety reports to the Sudanese Ministry of Health and other regulatory bodies.
• Conduct signal detection activities using statistical tools and clinical judgment to identify emerging safety concerns.
• Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and medical teams to develop risk management plans and safety communication strategies.
• Provide safety training and mentorship to junior staff and external partners.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of pharmacovigilance regulations, guidelines, and best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Proficiency in pharmacovigilance databases such as Argus, Arisg, or VigiBase.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of ICH E2E, E2B(R3), and local regulatory requirements.
• Effective time‑management and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline is required. Advanced degrees (MSc, PhD) or certifications in pharmacovigilance are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or related fields within the pharmaceutical industry or a regulatory agency. Experience with safety data management, signal detection, and regulatory submissions in emerging markets is preferred.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes statutory benefits and performance‑based incentives.
