Job Overview

The Satellite Communications Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining satellite communication links that support Huawei’s expanding portfolio of services in Sudan. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and test satellite communication systems, including VSAT, GEO, and LEO constellations.
  • Perform RF link budget analysis, frequency planning, and interference mitigation to ensure optimal signal quality.
  • Collaborate with vendors and satellite operators to negotiate service agreements and technical specifications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot satellite link performance using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including system architecture diagrams, technical manuals, and operational procedures.
  • Lead field installations, commissioning, and integration of satellite equipment at remote sites.
  • Provide technical support and training to local operators, customers, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations, international standards, and Huawei’s internal quality policies.
  • Participate in research and development initiatives to evaluate emerging satellite technologies and propose enhancements.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of satellite communication principles, RF engineering, and modulation techniques.
  • Proficiency with satellite network planning tools (e.g., STK, SatPlan, or equivalent).
  • Hands‑on experience with VSAT hardware, antenna systems, and RF testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
  • Effective communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Project management experience, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Satellite Communications Professional (CSCP) or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in satellite communications, RF engineering, or network design. Experience with Huawei equipment or similar vendor platforms is a strong plus.
