Job Overview:ERM is seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in El Geneina, Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, developing environmental management plans, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading environmental consulting firm and contribute to the development of sustainable projects in Sudan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and energy projects
- Develop and implement environmental management plans to minimize the environmental footprint of projects
- Ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations, including the Environmental Impact Assessment Act of 2010
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and project proponents
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management
- Proven track record of conducting environmental impact assessments and developing environmental management plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
