Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Kosti, Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading environmental impact assessments for WWF Sudan’s conservation projects, including assessments of potential impacts on biodiversity, water resources, and human settlements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, with experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and developing mitigation measures to minimize harm to the environment. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental impact assessments for WWF Sudan’s conservation projects
- Develop and implement mitigation measures to minimize harm to the environment
- Collaborate with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement conservation projects
- Conduct fieldwork and data collection to support environmental impact assessments
- Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and conservation
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
