Job Overview
The Environmental Restoration Specialist will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of environmental restoration projects in Sudan. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation, and project management. They will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to design and implement restoration projects that benefit both people and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental restoration projects in Sudan, in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct field assessments and surveys to identify areas for restoration and develop project proposals.
- Design and implement restoration projects, including habitat restoration, reforestation, and wetland conservation.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, and make adjustments as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental conservation, restoration, or a related field.
- Strong background in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental conservation, restoration, or a related field. Experience working in Sudan or a similar context is an asset.
Salary
The salary for this position is SSP 30,000 – 60,000 per month, depending on experience.
