Job Overview

The Agricultural Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in designing, evaluating, and monitoring financial products and services tailored to the agricultural sector in Sudan. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the analyst will conduct market research, assess credit risk, and develop financing models that support smallholder farmers, agribusinesses, and value‑chain actors. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of agricultural projects, including cash‑flow modeling, profitability assessment, and risk evaluation.
• Develop and structure loan products, guarantees, and blended finance solutions that meet the needs of diverse agricultural stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed investment memoranda, feasibility studies, and recommendation reports for senior management and board approval.
• Monitor portfolio performance, track repayment schedules, and implement corrective actions to mitigate credit risk.
• Collaborate with sector specialists, agronomists, and market experts to integrate technical insights into financial designs.
• Support the preparation of donor proposals and co‑financing agreements with international development partners.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes, market trends, and emerging technologies affecting agricultural finance in Sudan.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
• In‑depth knowledge of agricultural value chains, rural finance, and development economics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with risk assessment tools and credit appraisal methodologies.
• Familiarity with international development standards and donor reporting requirements.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in agricultural finance, rural development, investment banking, or a similar field. Prior exposure to multilateral development projects or working with NGOs in Sudan will be considered an asset.

Salary
