Job Overview

The Bioenergy Systems Engineer will design, optimize, and manage bioenergy production systems to support Sudan’s transition to clean energy. This role is critical in scaling biomass-to-energy projects, including waste-to-energy and biogas initiatives, to meet regional energy demands while promoting circular economy principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee bioenergy systems, including biogas plants and biomass conversion facilities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new bioenergy projects in collaboration with local stakeholders.
  • Optimize existing systems for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental compliance.
  • Monitor and report on project performance metrics, including energy output and emissions reduction.
  • Engage with communities to educate on bioenergy benefits and sustainable practices.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in bioenergy technologies, including anaerobic digestion and gasification.
  • Proficiency in energy system modeling software (e.g., HOMER, MATLAB).
  • Strong project management and cross-departmental collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Sudan’s energy policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical writing experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Renewable Energy.
  • Master’s degree preferred, with a focus on bioenergy or sustainable systems.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in bioenergy system design or renewable energy project management.
  • Proven track record in implementing bioenergy solutions in developing regions.

Salary
