Job Overview
The Customs Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all shipments processed through the Khashm el‑Girba hub comply with Sudanese customs regulations and international trade laws. This role involves close collaboration with customs authorities, internal teams, and external partners to facilitate smooth clearance processes while mitigating compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review all customs documentation, including import/export declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with Sudanese customs authorities to resolve clearance issues and ensure timely release of shipments.
- Monitor changes in customs legislation, tariffs, and trade agreements, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct internal audits of customs processes to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse and operations staff on compliance best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of all customs filings and ensure data integrity within DHL’s compliance systems.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to advise clients on customs requirements and potential duties.
- Support risk management initiatives by assessing compliance risks associated with high‑value or restricted goods.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Sudanese customs regulations and international trade law.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in customs software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication skills in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.

Education
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
A minimum of three to five years of hands‑on experience in customs compliance, import/export operations, or freight forwarding is required. Prior experience within a multinational logistics provider is highly preferred.
Salary
DHL offers a competitive salary range of SSP 150,000 to 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The compensation package includes performance‑based incentives and annual reviews.
