Job Overview

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the end‑to‑end supply chain processes that deliver food and non‑food items to beneficiaries in the Al Fashir region. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of food commodities, medical supplies, and other relief items in accordance with WFP procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock reconciliations, and report discrepancies promptly.
• Develop and update transport plans, route maps, and delivery schedules to optimize the movement of goods across challenging terrain.
• Negotiate contracts with local transport providers, warehouses, and service vendors, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
• Monitor shipment status, track delivery performance, and resolve bottlenecks or delays in real time.
• Prepare logistics reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for senior management and donor agencies.
• Support emergency response operations by mobilizing rapid deployment kits and coordinating air, road, and river transport as needed.
• Ensure health, safety, and security standards are adhered to throughout the supply chain.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of humanitarian logistics, customs clearance, and cross‑border regulations.
• Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., WFP’s Logistics Information System, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration abilities.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Effective communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a volatile environment.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a commitment to collaborative problem‑solving.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or a diploma in Humanitarian Logistics are considered an asset.

Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of three to five years of professional experience in logistics or supply chain roles, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts. Prior exposure to WFP or other UN agencies, NGOs, or international NGOs operating in Sudan or similar environments is highly desirable.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 120,000 to 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The remuneration package includes allowances for hardship, transportation, and health insurance in line with WFP policies.
