Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé Sudan’s quality systems for the new El Obeid manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Regional Quality Director, the role ensures that all products meet Nestlé’s global standards, local regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The manager will develop, implement, and continuously improve quality policies, oversee audits, manage corrective actions, and mentor a team of quality specialists. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and Nestlé Global Food Safety standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of non‑conformities and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to embed quality considerations into new product development and process changes.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and conduct risk assessments using HACCP principles.
  • Oversee laboratory testing, microbiological analysis, and sensory evaluations to verify product specifications.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Train and coach quality staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Manage supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring to ensure raw material integrity.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations in Sudan and international standards.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and root‑cause analysis techniques.
  • Effective communication skills in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate cross‑functional teams.
  • Project management expertise to drive quality initiatives on schedule.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CQE, HACCP, or ISO auditor qualifications are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the food and beverage sector, preferably in a multinational environment. Experience with large‑scale production facilities and a track record of successful audit management are essential.
