Job Overview

The Retail Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Metro Cash & Carry’s flagship store in Kosti, ensuring seamless store performance, exceptional customer service, and achievement of sales targets. This role involves strategic planning, staff leadership, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all store functions, including sales, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that align with corporate standards and local regulations.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of department managers and frontline staff to achieve performance goals.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales per square meter, stock turnover, and customer satisfaction scores.
• Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure optimal stock levels, timely replenishment, and minimal shrinkage.
• Drive promotional activities, visual merchandising, and in‑store events to boost foot traffic and sales.
• Manage budgeting, expense control, and financial reporting for the store.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Represent Metro Cash & Carry in community outreach and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in retail operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing a large‑format store or multiple departments. Experience in the Sudanese retail market or similar emerging markets is highly desirable.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and other employee benefits.
