Job Overview:IFAD is seeking a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in El Geneina, Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to rural communities in the development and implementation of sustainable agriculture practices. The position will involve working closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and government officials, to promote the adoption of climate-resilient agriculture practices and improve agricultural productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to rural communities in the development and implementation of sustainable agriculture practices
- Work closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and government officials, to promote the adoption of climate-resilient agriculture practices and improve agricultural productivity
- Conduct field assessments and monitoring to identify areas for improvement and track progress
- Develop and implement training programs for farmers and extension agents on sustainable agriculture practices
- Collaborate with other IFAD teams to ensure alignment with the organization’s overall strategy and goals
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or a related field
- Strong technical knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, including climate-resilient agriculture and agroecology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field
