Job Overview:IFAD is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join its team in El Geneina, Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to rural communities, governments, and other stakeholders to improve agricultural productivity, income, and food security. The position will also involve working closely with local farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture practices and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to rural communities, governments, and other stakeholders to improve agricultural productivity, income, and food security.
- Work closely with local farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture practices and technologies.
- Conduct field assessments and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for sustainable agriculture development.
- Develop and implement training programs for farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders on sustainable agriculture practices and technologies.
- Collaborate with other IFAD teams and partners to ensure that sustainable agriculture initiatives are integrated into broader development programs.
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, agricultural development, or related field.
- Proven track record of success in improving agricultural productivity, income, and food security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field.
