The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to improve food security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research and capacity development. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Livestock Development Officer to join our team in Damazin, Sudan.

Job Overview

The Sustainable Livestock Development Officer will be responsible for implementing sustainable livestock development projects in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong background in animal science, experience in project implementation, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement sustainable livestock development projects in collaboration with local communities and government agencies
  • Conduct field research and data collection to inform project design and implementation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and other partners
  • Provide technical assistance and training to local communities and government agencies on sustainable livestock development practices
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress and impact, and make recommendations for improvement

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Animal Science or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in sustainable livestock development or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with project management and monitoring and evaluation

Education

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Animal Science or a related field from a recognized university.

Experience

The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in sustainable livestock development or a related field, with a strong background in project implementation and management.

Salary

The salary for this position is 120,000 – 180,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
