Job Overview:IFAD is seeking a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join its team in El Geneina, Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to rural communities, governments, and other stakeholders to improve agricultural productivity, income, and food security. The Specialist will work closely with local partners to design and implement sustainable agriculture projects, and will provide capacity-building support to farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement sustainable agriculture projects that improve agricultural productivity, income, and food security
- Provide technical assistance to rural communities, governments, and other stakeholders to improve agricultural practices and increase access to markets
- Work closely with local partners to build their capacity to design and implement sustainable agriculture projects
- Conduct field assessments and monitoring and evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of projects
- Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable agriculture practices and increase access to markets
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, agricultural development, or a related field
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful sustainable agriculture projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and build partnerships with local stakeholders
