Job Overview

The Curriculum Development Specialist will lead the design, adaptation, and evaluation of national and regional curricula that reflect Sudan’s cultural diversity, linguistic richness, and emerging economic needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments in collaboration with regional education authorities to identify curriculum gaps.
• Design and develop curriculum frameworks for primary, secondary, and vocational education streams.
• Integrate gender‑responsive and inclusive teaching strategies that support learners with disabilities.
• Coordinate pilot testing of new curricula in selected schools and evaluate outcomes using quantitative and qualitative methods.

• Facilitate capacity‑building workshops for teachers and curriculum officers across Sudan.
• Collaborate with ICT teams to embed e‑learning resources and open educational resources (OER) into the curriculum.
• Monitor compliance with national education standards and UNESCO guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities to interpret educational data and translate findings into actionable curriculum improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Proficiency in curriculum design software and learning management systems.
• Project management expertise, including budgeting, timeline management, and stakeholder coordination.

Education

A Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in Project Management or ICT in Education will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of three to five years of proven experience in curriculum development, educational research, or program implementation within the Sudanese or broader African context. Experience working with international development agencies or UN bodies is highly desirable.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 180,000 to 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary is paid monthly and includes statutory benefits as per Sudanese labor law.
