Job Overview

The Solar Project Development Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end development of solar power projects from site identification through to financial close. This role involves technical feasibility studies, grid interconnection analysis, permitting, stakeholder engagement and coordination with EPC contractors. The engineer will work closely with internal teams, local authorities, landowners and financing partners to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the highest technical standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential solar sites using GIS, satellite imagery and on‑ground surveys.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies, including solar resource assessment, shading analysis and energy yield modeling.
  • Prepare grid interconnection studies, liaise with utility engineers and secure necessary grid connection agreements.
  • Lead the permitting process, ensuring compliance with local regulations, environmental impact assessments and land acquisition requirements.
  • Develop detailed project budgets, cash flow models and financial analyses to support investment decisions.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, suppliers and consultants to define scope, schedule and technical specifications.
  • Engage with local communities, government agencies and stakeholders to build support and address concerns.
  • Monitor project milestones, manage risks and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all activities align with Enel Green Power’s health, safety and environmental standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, design principles and performance modeling tools (e.g., PVSyst, SAM).
  • Proficiency in GIS software and data analysis for site selection.
  • Experience with grid interconnection studies and utility coordination.
  • Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting and risk management.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities for stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in solar energy are advantageous.

Experience

At least five years of hands‑on experience in solar project development, preferably with utility‑scale projects in emerging markets. Demonstrated success in delivering projects from concept to financial close is essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and allowances aligned with company policy.
