Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist will lead the procurement lifecycle for development projects funded by the World Bank in the Port Sudan region. This includes planning, sourcing, contracting, and managing suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services that meet quality standards and budgetary constraints. The role requires close coordination with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to align procurement activities with project objectives and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement plans that align with project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of international procurement standards, especially World Bank procurement policies.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

The successful candidate must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPM (Certified Procurement Manager) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of five years of progressive procurement experience within international development projects, preferably with exposure to World Bank or other multilateral donor environments. Salary
