Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Hydrogeologist to join our technical team in the Blue Nile region. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing groundwater management strategies that are both sustainable and resilient to climate change. Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive groundwater characterization and aquifer testing programs in diverse geological settings.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated numerical groundwater models to predict future water availability and quality.
• Oversee the design and implementation of sustainable borehole and well-drilling projects.
• Collaborate with local government authorities to integrate hydrogeological data into regional water management policies.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for proposed water extraction and distribution systems.
• Supervise field technicians and junior hydrologists during data collection and site investigations.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in groundwater modeling software such as MODFLOW or FEFLOW.
• Expertise in interpreting geophysical survey data and borehole logs.
• Strong project management skills with experience in multi-stakeholder coordination.
• Exceptional technical report writing and data visualization capabilities.
• Deep understanding of Sudanese water laws and environmental regulations.

Education

A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD in a specialized field of hydrology will be considered a significant advantage for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in hydrogeological investigations, preferably within the development or humanitarian sector. Proven experience in managing large-scale water projects in East Africa or similar geological environments is highly desirable. Salary
