Job Overview

The Solar Project Development Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end development of utility‑scale solar power projects from feasibility studies through to commissioning. This role involves technical analysis, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and coordination with cross‑functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments, resource analysis and grid impact studies for prospective solar farms.
• Develop detailed project proposals, financial models and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with land owners, local authorities, and utility companies to secure permits and power purchase agreements.
• Lead the preparation of environmental and social impact assessments in line with Sudanese regulations.
• Manage the tendering process, evaluate EPC bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Oversee design reviews, ensure compliance with international standards and Schneider Electric best practices.
• Monitor project milestones, budgets, and risk registers, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Support commissioning activities, performance testing and handover to operations teams.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope).
• Excellent knowledge of Sudanese energy regulations, grid codes and permitting processes.
• Project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting and risk management.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities for stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in solar energy (e.g., NABCEP) are considered a strong advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in solar project development, preferably on utility‑scale projects in Africa or the Middle East. Demonstrated track record of delivering projects from concept to commercial operation is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based incentives.
