Job Overview:ILRI is seeking a Sustainable Livestock Development Officer to join its team in Damazin, Sudan. The successful candidate will work closely with local stakeholders to design and implement sustainable livestock development projects that improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement sustainable livestock development projects that improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and their families.
- Work closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, extension agents, and government officials, to identify and address the needs of smallholder farmers.
- Develop and implement training programs for smallholder farmers on sustainable livestock production and management practices.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices in sustainable livestock development and to evaluate the impact of ILRI’s projects.
- Write and publish research papers and reports on sustainable livestock development in Sudan.
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Animal Science or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in sustainable livestock development, with a focus on smallholder farmers.
- Strong understanding of sustainable livestock production and management practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and to lead projects.
