Job Overview

As a Telecom Network Planning Engineer at Huawei Technologies, you will lead the design and optimization of radio access networks (RAN) for major mobile operators across Sudan. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive network design plans for 4G and 5G rollouts, including site selection, frequency planning, and capacity forecasting.
• Perform radio frequency (RF) simulations and drive‑test analyses to validate network performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with vendors and local authorities to secure site permits, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinate civil works.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design reports, cost estimates, and implementation schedules.
• Lead network optimization initiatives post‑deployment, utilizing KPI monitoring tools to enhance coverage, throughput, and user experience.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
• Stay updated on emerging telecom technologies, industry standards, and best practices to continuously improve network planning processes.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in network planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or iBwave.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex RF data and translate it into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Project management experience, including budgeting and timeline coordination.
• Knowledge of Sudan’s telecom regulatory environment and spectrum allocation.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in RF planning, 5G technologies, or project management (e.g., PMP) are highly desirable.

Experience
